Green Economy – Can We Make Work More Sustainable?

OK, it’s official now.

The planet is quickly being drawn down and some research shows that nearly 60 percent of the world’s ecosystem services were found to be degraded or used unsustainably.

Slowly but surely, we are destroying our home. This degradation of the environment has its consequences and, unfortunately, our children will be paying these debts.

One of the efforts some conscious people are trying to bring forward is named The Green Economy. It’s defined as such  an economic system that aims to reduce environmental risks and ecological scarcities, in other words, its goal is sustainable development without degrading the environment.

This new way of seeing, planning and executing economy issues simultaneously promotes an alternative vision for sustainability and economic growth. The final goal (and hope) is to generate improvements in people’s lives that are consistent with sustainable development. And all that in order to, if not restore, then to save what is left of Earths resources and nature itself.

Green Economy promotes a triple bottom line: sustaining and advancing economic, environmental and social well-being.

GREEN ECONOMY PRINCIPLES

There are five basic principles linked to the green economy initiative.

  1. The Well-being Principle

Green economy enables all people to create and enjoy prosperity.

  1. The Justice Principle

The green economy promotes equity within and between generations.

  1. The Planetary Boundaries Principle

The green economy safeguards restores and invests in nature.

  1. The Efficiency and Sufficiency Principle

The green economy is geared to support sustainable consumption as well as sustainable production.

  1. The Good Governance Principle

The green economy is guided by integrated, accountable and resilient institutions.

Number 3 and number 4 are of special interest to Teodesk. We support this philosophy and therefore, we try to integrate various features into our product to contribute to what the green economy stands for.

TEODESK DOCUMENT MODULE AND GREEN ECONOMY

The green economy safeguards, restores and invests in nature, while recognizing and nurturing nature’s diverse values. We at Teodesk acknowledge the limitations when it comes to substituting natural capital, employing the precautionary principle to avoid its loss and breach of ecological limits.

Teodesk Document Module is created with intentions not only to make work simple and fast but also to support sustainable document sharing.

ONLINE DOCUMENT STORING BENEFITS

This module allows you to store every document about your business online for later use. A very precise and efficient Document Management Module keeps all documents uploaded within tasks in separate folders connected to specific projects and employees profiles. All documents are stored in one safe place which is always accessible for searching for documents by any category.

Document Management Module (DMM) makes it possible to track what documents were shared and when – on the portal and the entire company itself. Every single document ever shared is always accessible. Besides the fact that this module provides a perfect insight to your business, it also helps you go paperless and get rid of the clutter a document physical presence creates.

Documents can be searched based on different criteria: type of file, uploading date, name of the person who uploaded the file, keywords or any label you define.

Forget about tons of paper on your desk. Forget about the printing machine, its cartridges, and electricity consumption. Do what you can to give your contribution to environmental issues. The least you can do is try your best not to be part of the cause of ecological degradation, but to be a part of the solution.

By using Teodesk and its Document Module, you are making task and document managing easier and more efficient to your employees, while – at the same time, embracing a new model of economic development that addresses the challenge of creating prosperity within planetary boundaries.

Go paperless! Go green! Go Teodesk!
